It’s won Motor Trend’s Minivan Comparison Test and has some of the best power, handling and steering.  There are also a lot of great Toyota Sienna parts and accessories.

1. Rear Seat Entertainment – Keep your kids as well as adult travelers occupied with videos and video games with the rear seat entertainment system.  The video monitors mount to the back of the front passenger and driver seats.
2. Cargo Organizers – Keep things neat with the innovative Toyota cargo organizer for the Sienna.  The Sienna accessory features bins that allow you to keep things neatly organized.
3. Remote Engine Start – This is great for those cold winter days when you don’t want to go outside.  Start your Sienna from the comforts of your home with the remote engine start.
4. Roof Rack – This is perhaps one of the most overlooked Toyota Sienna accessories.  A roof rack comes in handy for those long road trips and ski and sled trips during the winter.

We’ve torn apart and analyzed five different oil filters for the Tundra and eight different oil filters for the Tacoma.  Here is what we found.

Toyota Tacoma Oil Filter Comparison

With the Toyota Tacoma oil filter, here is our Top 3:

1. Toyota OEM
2. Wix
3. K&N

The Toyota OEM, Wix and K&N filters are all great filters for your Tacoma.  These three rise to the top when compared to Bosch, ACDelco, MicroGard, Fram High Mileage and SuperTech.

Here’s why we like the Toyota OEM, Wix and K&N filters.

• Filter Surface Area – These three filters had the largest filter surface area to help filter out more oil impurities.

• Bypass Valve – Of the eight that we compared, these three had the best bypass valves.  Each of the valves functioned at a high level.

• Filter Materials – The materials used in these three filters was less paper-like, less crumbly when cut, and generally sturdier.

So which did we like the best? They are all good filters.  However, the Toyota OEM ($4.33) comes in at a lower price than the Wix ($6.99) and K&N ($13.99) filters.

If you can find a Wix or K&N filter at a similar price to the OEM filter, they are worth considering.  However, you’ll get more value out of the Toyota OEM parts.

Toyota Tundra Oil Filter Comparison

When it comes to the Toyota Tundra, we examined five filters.  Here is how we would rank them.

1. Toyota OEM ($4.33)
2. Wix ($6.99)
3. Fram Standard ($6.44)
4. MicroGard ($6.59)
5. Fram ExtraGuard ($9.49)

Like the Tacoma, the Toyota OEM and Wix filters had more surface area as well as a better bypass valve.  The Fram and MicroGard were solid filters, but need not meet the high levels of the Toyota OEM and Wix filters.

The Fram ExtraGuard filter we tested did not fare well.  It had inconsistent manufacturing and loose surface particles as well as the smallest surface area and highest density.

Toyota offers two types of trucks the Tacoma and the Tundra.  While there are two models, deciding between the two can be a difficult decision.

To help you decide, here are some questions that you need to ask yourself.

How will you be using your truck?

Will your truck be used for a lot of heavy-duty work?  Or will it be used as a family type vehicle?  Based on how you use the truck, you’ll have a lot of options.  If you’re considering it as a work-only truck, you’ll want to consider the regular-cab option.  If you’re thinking it will be used for work and play, consider the double-cab options.

Who will be riding in your truck?

If you’re looking for something with more space you have several options.  Both the Tacoma and Tundra come with double-cab options.  However, if you have a big family and they’ll be riding in your truck, you may want to go with the Tundra as it has more cab space.

Are you concerned about gas mileage?

If you’re concerned with gas mileage, you’ll want to consider the Tacoma as it gets better gas mileage than the Tundra.  The Tacoma gets 21/25 (city/highway) mpg. While the Tundra gets 16/20 mpg.

Whatever truck you decide on, make sure to use genuine Toyota parts.  This will keep your truck on the road longer.  Just do a search for Tacoma parts or Tundra parts on the internet.  You’ll find some quality parts.

The face of the vehicle has been significantly changed, to reflect the more angular look Toyota has been working on of late. This involved “a redesigned hood, grille, headlamps and front bumper, among other changes.” It’s really no surprise here that it is in fact more aggressive. Based on the recent drive for attitude in Toyota’s aesthetic division when designing vehicles for the 2012 model year, it can safely be assumed that Akio Toyoda (CEO) has a new image for Toyota in mind. Ever since the LFA shook the company at it’s foundation, it seems like more and more consumer models are aimed towards that look and feel. The 2012 Toyota Tacoma still has it’s rounded corners that make the iconic truck what it is, but the lines and contour of the front end is much more defined.

The interior was also significantly reworked, to involve the latest and greatest in comfort. “Access Cab models offer a new available six-speaker system with an AM/FM/ Satellite Radio-capable head unit with a single-disc CD player. Built-in Bluetooth® allows hands-free phone, and a USB port enables connection of an iPod®, MP3 player or flash drive with music files.“ The DoubleCab V6 model includes Toyota’s EnTune multimedia suite, allowing drivers to access their personal entertainment media in a quick distraction-free way.

Toyota has also expanded the optional configurations of the 2012 Toyota Tacoma, to involve different combinations of Toyota Parts and Toyota Accessories. The X-Runner, X|T, and X|T Pro models all are different versions of the same great vehicle, tailored to appeal to different audiences.
