I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna. The pistons on the back tailgate have given out and don’t hold the tailgate anymore. I have heard that 2004 tailgate pistons are covered by an extended 6 year warranty. Any truth to that?
Rick, yes there is a recall on many of these.Did you recieve a letter on this? email me your vin# and ill check to see if you your Sienna is included.Email me at tblackman@olathetoyota.com
I have a Rav4 2008 with 40,000 miles. Recently I noticed my rear end was leaking. Had local mechanic look at it and he said that the seals at the ends of the rear axles need to be replaced. Seems like some thing like that should not start leaking at 40,000 miles. What’s up with that?
I HAVE A 2002 AVALON XLS THAT HAS A PULLING PROBLEM TO THE LEFT. TIRES HAVE BEEN MOVED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND X’ED. FRONT END ALINGMENT HAS BEEN DONE AND CAR IS IN FACTORY SPECS. HAVE HAD FRAME CHECKED ON A NEW DIGITAL FRAME MACHINE. CASTER IS ALMOST AT THE SAME ON BOTH SIDES. HAD A CAMBER KIT INSTALLED ON RIGHT SIDE TO PUT POSTIVE CAMBER IN RIGHT SIDE. I STILL HAVE A PULL TO THE LEFT.IM WONDERING IS THERE ANYONE KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT? PLEASE SEND ADVICE THANKS RICHARD PAINTER
Hi Richard. That’s a good question. I would suggest checking to see if you need new tires. Having driven many Toyotas, they seem to follow the crown in the middle of the road. That also could be the cause. Thanks for your posting, and if you have any other questions, please let us know!
HAS ANYONE USED AMS OIL IN A COROLLAOR ANY OTHER TOYOTA VECHILE. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY THE TOOL TO RESET MY GAUGE AFTER I CHANGE MY OIL?
Hi Kathlene,
There is no tool. The owner’s manual will show you how to reset the gauge. AMS oil is fine as long as it is the correct viscosity (regular or synthetic) and it is changed at factory intervals.
