When the Toyota Supra ceased being sold at Toyota dealers in the U.S. in 1999, fans everywhere mourned the loss of the iconic sports car. Originally a longer wider Toyota Celica with genuine Toyota parts, the Supra quickly gained a style of its own that built a wide fan base and became popular in videogames, movies, TV shows, and even music videos.
For years rumors have been passed about that this once great car will be reintroduced to American consumers. The upcoming announcement of the Toyota FT-HS (Future Toyota-Hybrid Sport) has led many to speculate that this will be the latest incarnation of the Supra brand.
According to the rumors, the Supra will be available with a V6 (340hp) or a V8 (450hp) engine. The expected price of the car is between $40,000 and $50,000.

Toyota has yet again proven their commitment and dedication to creating highly efficient, environmentally friendly cars with excellent Toyota parts. In this year’s Green Book’s “The Best Of” list, published by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), Toyota placed in more categories than any other car brand.
Of the fourteen categories judged at the event, eight included Toyota vehicles and five of those were number-one positions. The vehicles ranked first included the Prius, the Corolla, the Yaris, the Tacoma, and the Sienna.
Toyota also has more cars on “The Greenest Vehicles of 2008″ list and the “Greener Choices of 2008″ list than any other automaker.
There is no doubt that in the coming years Toyota will continue to remain the greenest automaker in the country.

It’s no secret that the Toyota Prius is one of the hottest hybrid cars on the market today. Equipped with genuine Toyota parts and Toyota accessories, the Prius has become the leading choice for environmentally conscious consumers.

On May 15, Chrysler began to notify 1,200 suppliers its plans to pay for claims that came before the filing for bankruptcy. In court, they disclosed a primary list of affected suppliers. They also included the cost of the claims for each supplier. Contracts with these suppliers are expected to continue with the new company created by the sale of most Chrysler assets.
The list of suppliers is not final and Chrysler will continue to work with suppliers who want to work with the newest company.
Suppliers with the largest payments include Continental AG (Germany) and Johnson Controls (Milwaukee). Both companies are planned to receive about 70 million. Magna International (Canada) is targeted to receive just over 63 million.
The suppliers are going to receive about ½ of what is owed in increments over the next several weeks. The rest of the payment is expected to come after the sale with Flat Group SpA (Italy).
Chrysler said it would negotiate with suppliers who disagree on the amount owed to them. Judge Arthur Gonzales will hear any objections on the June 4th court hearing.
Toyota has been researching new suppliers in the past 12 months in anticipation of the financial problems caused by GM and Chrysler’s financial woes. They have taken necessary precautions and they are believed to be set for future difficulties. I guess we will know when you and I go into your local Toyota Parts department. The counterman will inform us if the part we need is on terminal Backorder or if it is readily available like it always has been.

With 52.3 mpg and Co2 emissions of only 106g/km, the Toyota Aygo is one of Europe’s most popular “green” cars. Equipped with genuine Toyota parts, the tiny Aygo sells nearly 100,000 models annually in Europe at a price as low as £7,040 ($10,632).

The all new 2010 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4 x 2 model will feature a new 4.6 liter i-FORCE V 8 engine. When compared to the previous engines this engine delivers 34 more horsepower with a preliminary EPA fuel efficiency rating of 14 mpg city and 19 mpg highway, which in turn provides up to two more miles per gallon for 4 x 2 models on the highway. The 5.7 liter i-FORCE V 8 engine comes standard on all Limited and Platform models. Both engines are matted to a six-speed automatic transmission.
